You may have noticed a change in our web site appearance…

Yes, we’ve gone high tech and are now using Wordpress to run our site. This is sophisticated software, so bear with us while we continue to refine our site function and appearance.

Please email the webmaster (see link on Contact page) if you think something isn’t working right or if you would like to see the site function differently.

Spiritual Stitchers

Wednesday, September 27th, 2006

Use and teach your needlecraft skills to serve others in our local community. Led by Désha Davis 425-672-7814, Doreen Farrar 425-673-7206, and Carol Rypkema 425-745-1190, we’ll meet the third Saturday of each month in the church library from 10:00am to Noon to work on projects as a group, then continue at home in between. This will provide mutual encouragement, and just plain fun! Bring your interest in needlecraft and we’ll do the rest. If you’ve never knitted or crocheted before, don’t let that stop you; lessons are cheerfully provided.

Help Wanted

Wednesday, September 13th, 2006

The Altar Guild could use a few good men and women in this ministry. Participation offers a chance for you to become a prayerful minister maintaining the Sanctuary as a holy place of worship for the members of the Body of Christ at St. Hilda and St. Patrick. Please contact Martha Walker at 425-742-1001 or perfmed [Email address: perfmed #AT# comcast.net - replace #AT# with @ ] if you are called to this ministry.

Food Pantry

Wednesday, September 13th, 2006

Thanks to everyone who is helping to keep our Food Pantry stocked, and to the Sunday school members who are keeping it organized. We have some regular guests who use the Food Pantry, and it is wonderful to be able to provide this needed service to them. A big thank you also to Scout Troop 123, whose members had a food drive at QFC recently, and donated 24 bags of groceries, cash, and a $25 gift card from QFC to be used for the Food Pantry or the Holiday Food Baskets. With your help, this has become a very successful ministry to the community.

Landscaping Committee

Wednesday, September 13th, 2006

Landscaping members are: Pat Allendoerfer, John Cooper, Graham Haslam, Melody Oxley, Sue Rizzotti, Mary Helen Roberts, Rosemary Stapleton and Debbie Lindhardt. All decisions are based on a majority so I am basically in charge of keeping the laughter under control, the meetings on track, and getting the minutes to make sense. We work well together and welcome anyone to join us. We were able with great support from the congregation to fund raise for each project we have undertaken in the past and hope to maintain this in the future.

Our goal is to maintain and upgrade the grounds of our church. Through this ministry we intend to make our property inviting to the neighborhood and those interested in our church.

A main push this year is our Adopt a Garden program. Early on we decided that we as a small group did not have the manpower or time to maintain the entire property. We divided up the property into many plots. These vary in size and maintenance needs.

Flower Guild

Wednesday, September 13th, 2006

St. Hilda - St. Patrick’s Flower Guild provides floral decoration and/or greenery for the Altar and narthex each Sunday. It also, with the help of the Altar Guild and other individuals, decorates the entire sanctuary for the great festivals of Christmas and Easter. The Flower Guild currently has five members whose goals are: to create flower arrangements which glorify God and enhance worship; to learn about and increase flower arranging skills; and to enjoy the creativity that is an essential part of this ministry. Working individually, members obtain and arrange flowers for the Sunday services. Flowers and greenery often come from home gardens or may be purchased with funds furnished through contributions from those dedicating flowers for a particular Sunday or from general donations.

Altar Guild

Wednesday, September 13th, 2006

St. Hilda - St. Patrick’s Altar Guild is composed of women of the Church, (men are welcome too), “who faithfully and devoutly undertake the care of the altar and its vestments, remembering that it is a privilege to serve God in His sanctuary.” The guild currently has 10 members. We work for two- week intervals in groups of two or three. We meet collectively once a month to stay current with church happenings. This year has given us many blessings. We successfully hosted two fundraisers allowing for the completion of the Sacristy and thanks to the devotion of our Senior Warden, the Aumbry has been restored and installed in a proper place.

Won’t he be surprised when he finds he gets to do some writing each week (in addition to the talking)!
