Farm Cat Faith Ministry Update

Tuesday, November 28th, 2006

PURR: “If there were to be a universal sound depicting peace I would surely vote for PURR.” Barbara L. Diamond. Summer 2005 was the beginning of an extraordinary adventure. The neighborhood farm was overrun with cats and the farmer was strugglilng to keep them fed and healthy. We asked to help, and began the supplemental feeding program, as well as catching and neutering adult cats and returning them to the farm. Pregnant females were fostered, and when their kittens were born we found homes for them. Our ultimate goal was to stabilize the cat colony and reduce our feeding. We’ve succeeded. There will always be new cats finding us, but our work with the farm is finished. We have a few faithful felines that come for food once a day - Fae, Mary, Dinah, Esther and Herbert. Thanks to all who have continued to support the cats with donations of food, money for veterinarian care, homes, and most of all by opening your hearts to the mystery of God’s creation. We still need dry food and people who love to feed and commune with these wonderful creatures.
