It is amazing how all of this came together. Pat Allendoerfer had an idea, the family of Greg Harrison wanted an appropriate memorial, and Don Stapleton was willing to devote hours of work. The Landscaping Committee made it all happen. We now have a beautiful place adjacent to our Peace Garden for meditation and prayer. Thank you.
Landscaping members are: Pat Allendoerfer, John Cooper, Graham Haslam, Melody Oxley, Sue Rizzotti, Mary Helen Roberts, Rosemary Stapleton and Debbie Lindhardt. All decisions are based on a majority so I am basically in charge of keeping the laughter under control, the meetings on track, and getting the minutes to make sense. We work well together and welcome anyone to join us. We were able with great support from the congregation to fund raise for each project we have undertaken in the past and hope to maintain this in the future.
Our goal is to maintain and upgrade the grounds of our church. Through this ministry we intend to make our property inviting to the neighborhood and those interested in our church.
A main push this year is our Adopt a Garden program. Early on we decided that we as a small group did not have the manpower or time to maintain the entire property. We divided up the property into many plots. These vary in size and maintenance needs.
