A New Commandment: Maundy Thursday
April 9, 7 p.m.
“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 13.34-35
Begin the Three Days with hearing the story of Jesus’ new commandment to love one another. Optionally participate in the sign of humility and love, communal foot washing. Remember Jesus’ first time telling his disciples to “Take, eat.” Remember his arrest and the disciples’ darkness of heart.
It is Finished: Good Friday
April 10, 7 p.m.
“When Jesus had received the wine, he said, ‘It is finished.’ Then he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.” — John 19.30
Hear John’s recollection of Jesus’ Crucifixion. Pray solemnly for the whole church and world using an extended litany. Venerate the Cross, by which God has saved all of creation.

This is the Night: The Great Vigil of Easter
April 11, 8 p.m.
“This is the night, when Christ broke the bonds of death and hell,
and rose victorious from the grave.” — Exsultet, Book of Common Prayer, 287.
Fire, word, bath and meal. Kindle the new fire and process through darkness. Hear God’s history of salvation. Reaffirm your baptism and join in celebrating a new baptism. Share Christ’s Body and Blood at the First Communion of Easter.
