July 2: Weekly Prayers

Eternal God, you have freed your church from sin. Sanctify us that we may be wholly dedicated to you  and your purposes. Bless Michael, our presiding bishop; Melissa and Brian, our bishops; and Joseph,  our vicar. We pray for the Anglican Episcopal Church of Brazil; and for the faith communities of St. Aiden’s, Camano Island; and Transfiguration, Darrington. Look upon us, O God, answer us.

Incarnate God, help us to welcome Christ by welcoming the other. Give us eyes to seek and serve  Christ in all persons, loving our neighbors as ourselves. Look upon us, O God, answer us.

Righteous God, just as you provided a ram for Abraham, you have given us all we need. Encourage us  to share what we have so that all may have their needs met. We give thanks, silently or aloud, for the  blessings of this life. Look upon us, O God, answer us.

Merciful God, we put our trust in you. We pray you make joyful the hearts of our neighbors— especially the displaced and sorrowful. Look upon us, O God, answer us.

Compassionate God, answer those who cry out in their pain. Comfort those who feel forgotten. Give  peace to those who are perplexed and grieving. We pray for those who have commended themselves  to our prayers: Emilio; Ian; Barbara; Christine; Sue; Giles; Denice; Jim; Richard; Suzanne; Karen; Alec;  Imani; Thiago; Michael; Joanne; Nathan; Emily; and those we now name, either silently or aloud. Look upon us, O God, answer us.

Gracious God, your free gift is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Bless and keep the dying and the  dead. We pray for Noelle; Laura; and those we now name, either silently or aloud. Look upon us, O God, answer us.

Joyful God, we thank you for the friends celebrating birthdays and anniversaries this week especially  Paige; and those we now name, either silently or aloud. Look upon us, O God, answer us.

AMEN.
