May 25: Weekly Prayers

By the gift and power of the Holy Spirit, teach your church to walk in the ways of Jesus. May the  gospel be found in our minds, in our hearts, and on our lips.

Let us praise you, O God. Let all the peoples praise you.

Let the nations be glad and sing for joy, for you judge the peoples with equity and guide all the  nations upon earth. We look for the day, O God, when all the peoples gather around your throne in  praise and worship. We thank you for the blessings of this life, including those we now name, either  silently or aloud.

Let us praise you, O God. Let all the peoples praise you.

O God from whom all good proceeds, bless the earth to bring forth her increase. Guide all your people  to honor you by caring for your creation.

Let us praise you, O God. Let all the peoples praise you.

Give to our community, O God, your peace. Shine the light of your love on those places that are  plagued by violence, hatred, and sadness. Be merciful to us and bless us.

Let us praise you, O God. Let all the peoples praise you.

Spread your sheltering wings, O God, over those who live in fear of immigration enforcement. Give  courage to those who assist and protect them.

Let us praise you, O God. Let all the peoples praise you.

Almighty God, let your ways be known upon earth, your saving health among all nations. Give to the  sick and suffering a taste of the water of life. We pray for those who struggle with addiction and  recovery, especially those who meet in our building. We ask you to bless those who have commended  themselves to our prayers: Kris, Debbie, and their family; Judy, David, and their family; Alex; Vicky;  Emilio; Ian; Barbara; Christine; Sue; Denice; Jim; Richard; Suzanne; Karen; Nancy; Sandy; Emily; Tim;  and those we now name, either silently or aloud.

Let us praise you, O God. Let all the peoples praise you.

Grant us, O God, by your great mercy, entrance into your heavenly city where we might worship at  your throne, see you face to face, and reign with you forever and ever. We remember those who have  died, especially Pat; and those we now name, either silently or aloud.

Let us praise you, O God. Let all the peoples praise you.

Joyful God, we thank you for the friends and loved ones celebrating birthdays and anniversaries this  week, especially Aria; Margo; and those we now name, either silently or aloud.

Let us praise you, O God. Let all the peoples praise you.

Amen.
