June 22: Weekly Prayers

Send out your light and your truth that they may lead your people into the joy and gladness we  experience at your altar. Send us out to shine your light and share our joy. Bless our presiding Bishop,  Sean; our bishop, Phil; and our vicar, Joseph. We pray for the Anglican Church of Mozambique and  Angola; and for the faith communities of St. Joseph-St. John, and St. Mary’s, Lakewood. We pray also  for the congregation of All Saints Goshen, who worships in our building.

We put our trust in you, O God, send us forth.

God, our strength, remember those who feel forgotten, be the salvation for those who are being  oppressed. Defend the cause of the innocent. Deliver the world from wickedness. We remember  especially those who live in fear of immigration enforcement; those who are detained; and those who  are deported. Bless those who protect and serve them.

We put our trust in you, O God, send us forth.

You, O God, grant your loving-kindness in the daytime. The night is filled with your songs. We thank  you for blessing your creation with your presence in all times and all seasons.

We put our trust in you, O God, send us forth.

Lord Jesus, break the chains of those held in bondage. Restore those forgotten by society. May all  prisoners and captives, by the power of your love and mercy, have their dignity renewed.

We put our trust in you, O God, send us forth.

We pray, O God, for those weighed down by heavy hearts. We pray for those who feel as if they are in  over their heads, for the disquieted, and for the ill. We ask you to protect our wildland firefighters,  and all who work for public safety. Bless those who struggle with addiction and recovery, especially those who meet in our building. We lift up to you all those who have commended themselves to our  prayers: Elise, Eric, and their family; Susy; Alex; Vicky; Emilio; Ian; Barbara; Christine; Sue; Denice; Jim;  Richard; Suzanne; Karen; Nancy; Sandy; Emily; Tim; and those we now name, either silently or aloud.

We put our trust in you, O God, send us forth.

O God, in Christ Jesus you have made us your children. We pray for the dying and the dead. Bring  them into your heavenly dwelling where they may be at home with you forever. Today we remember  Lori; Kenneth; Ayden; and those we now name, either silently or aloud.

We put our trust in you, O God, send us forth.

God who brings joy, we thank you for our friends and loved ones, especially those celebrating  birthdays and anniversaries this week, including Pat & Edie; and those we now name, either silently or  aloud.

We put our trust in you, O God, send us forth.

Amen.
