July 27: Weekly Prayers

Speak peace to your church, O God, and let it draw people’s hearts to you. Bless our presiding bishop,  Sean; our bishop, Phil; and our vicar, Joseph. We pray for the Anglican Church of Papua New Guinea;  and for the faith communities of St. Aiden’s, Camano Island; and Transfiguration, Darrington. We pray  also for the congregation of All Saints Goshen, who worships in our building.

Restore us, O God, give us life again.

Let your glory dwell in our land. Place firmly a vision of your justice before our leaders.

Restore us, O God, give us life again.

We thank you, God of blessings, for this caring community. May our love for one another expand  toward all our neighbors.

Restore us, O God, give us life again.

Watch over, we pray, all who are vulnerable to immigration enforcement, for those in hiding, and  those who are detained. Shower your blessings upon those who help them. Call to account all who do  them harm, and all who allow hatred to grow in their hearts.

Restore us, O God, give us life again.

Comfort and strengthen, compassionate God, all who suffer in body, mind, and spirit. Be their  constant guardian. Bless those who struggle with addiction and recovery, especially those who meet  in our building. We pray for those who have commended themselves to our prayers: Cristy; Dave;  Thomas; Maryam; Elise, Eric, and their family; Michelle; Scot; Jose and his family; Emilio; Ian; Barbara;  Christine; Sue; Denice; Jim; Richard; Suzanne; Karen; Nancy; Sandy; Emily; Tim; and those we now  name, either silently or aloud.

Restore us, O God, give us life again.

Have mercy, God of eternity, upon those who have died. Remember your servants and welcome them  home. We pray for Ron; Janet; John; Josh; Lori; and those we now name, either silently or aloud.

Restore us, O God, give us life again.

May your love glow in our hearts as we recall the births and unions of our friends and family,  especially those celebrating this week: Alex & Anne; Jeff; and those we now name, either silently or  aloud.

Restore us, O God, give us life again.

Amen.
