May 4: Weekly Prayers

Bless, O God, all faithful people, and those struggling to be faithful. Bless church leaders in every  country. Guide our St. Hilda-St. Patrick community as we meet to break bread together this week, so  that we may serve you and your people with humility and grace.

We give thanks to you, Lord God. Honor and glory and blessing  are yours.

In the Diocese of Olympia, we pray today for St. Antony of Egypt, Silverdale and St. Nicholas, Tahuya.  In the Anglican Communion, we pray for The Church of Ireland. We also ask your blessing on All Saints  Goshen Church.

We give thanks to you, Lord God. Honor and glory and blessing  are yours.

We lift up in prayer those who serve our communities and our country, including all elected or  appointed officials. Help us to govern ourselves effectively and fairly, with open arms and good  intentions, as you have shown us how to do.

We give thanks to you, Lord God. Honor and glory and blessing  are yours.

We pray that the Holy Spirit will lead those in authority in every nation to act for the good of all, not  just for personal attraction to wealth, power, or control. Our prayers today are especially with people  experiencing armed conflict around the world.

We give thanks to you, Lord God. Honor and glory and blessing  are yours.

Hear the cries of people in our own communities who yearn for healing, justice, and mercy. Our  thoughts are especially with those in the recovery groups at St. Hilda St. Patrick, and all who use our  food pantry and sock box.

We give thanks to you, Lord God. Honor and glory and blessing  are yours.

We pray for those who live in fear of immigration enforcement, and those who are detained without  due process. Bless those who comfort them in their sorrow and terror.

We give thanks to you, Lord God. Honor and glory and blessing  are yours.

Help us to remember and reach out to refugees of war, famine, poverty, and natural disasters. We  pray also for unhoused children and adults; prisoners; the hungry, those struggling to care for  themselves and others, and those who are ill.

We give thanks to you, Lord God. Honor and glory and blessing  are yours.

In our hearts today are these people who are commended to our prayers: Kris, Debbie, and their  family; Judy, David, and their family; Alex; Vicky; Emilio; Ian; Barbara; Christine; Sue; Denice; Jim;  Richard; Suzanne; Karen; Nancy; Sandy; Emily; Helen; Verne; Tim; and those we now name, either  silently or aloud.

We give thanks to you, Lord God. Honor and glory and blessing  are yours.

We pray for all who have departed our world, and we rejoice in their new lives with you, including Greg; Kathy; and those we now name, either silently or aloud.

We give thanks to you, Lord God. Honor and glory and blessing  are yours.

We give you thanks, Creator God, for sun, rain, food, and beauty. Help us to treasure and preserve  our world.

We give thanks to you, Lord God. Honor and glory and blessing  are yours.

We rejoice today for the lives of people celebrating anniversaries and birthdays, including: Dawn; Will;  Peter & Adrienne; and those we now name, either silently or aloud.

We give thanks to you, Lord God. Honor and glory and blessing  are yours.

Healer of body and soul, cure the sicknesses of our spirits, so that we may grow in holiness through  your constant care. You are our strength and our song.

We give thanks to you, Lord God. Honor and glory and blessing  are yours.

Amen.
