June 15: Weekly Prayers

O God, rich acceptance, out of your great love you have made us alive together with Christ. You have  made us a church family through the waters of baptism and fire of the holy spirit. May your love  expand our hearts and minds. Breathe life into our worship and celebrations and help us adapt to  change.

Most merciful God, hear our prayer.

We pray for your church and all who serve you, including Joseph, our vicar; Phil, our Bishop; and Sean, our Presiding Bishop. Bless your servants everywhere. Nosotros elevamos la Iglesia Anglicana de  Mexico. In this diocese we pray for Christ Church, Puyallup; and St. Matthew’s, Browns Point/Tacoma.  Bless the congregation of All Saints Goshen who worships in this building.

Most merciful God, hear our prayer.

The works of your hands, O God, are faithfulness and justice. Bless those who lead and govern us with  the knowledge and will to do better. We ask you to quiet the voices of discord and self-interest. We  ask that you inspire our leaders to do good works. Protect those vulnerable to immigration  enforcement, and refresh those who care for them. Guard and hearten all who work for public safety,  including wildland firefighters.

Most merciful God, hear our prayer.

Holy Spirit, comfort and protect us as we face our fears and challenges. Let us stay centered in your  peace. Keep watch over our families and friends. Strengthen those who struggle with addiction and  recovery, especially those who meet in our building.

Most merciful God, hear our prayer.

Comfort those who are sick or suffering. Be with those who have requested prayer: Emilio; Ian;  Barbara; Christine; Sue; Denice; Jim; Richard; Suzanne; Karen; Nancy; Sandy; Emily; Tim; Sarah, Macy and their family; Lori; Susy; Amy; Alex; Vicky; as well as those we now name, either silently or aloud.

Most merciful God, hear our prayer.

Lord, we pray for those who have passed on before us. We ask for your consolation for those in  mourning. Take us into your arms and comfort us as we grieve their absence. We pray especially for:  Kenneth; Ayden; and those we now name, either silently or aloud.

Most merciful God, hear our prayer.

We praise you for the many celebrations of our lives. We thank you especially for those with birthdays  and anniversaries this week, including Peter; Nicholas; Elizabeth; and those we now name, either  silently or aloud.

Most merciful God, hear our prayer.

Amen.
