July 6: Weekly Prayers

O God, we pray for your holy people in every place. Bless our presiding bishop, Sean; our bishop, Phil;  and our vicar, Joseph. We pray for the Church of Nigeria; and for the faith community of St. John’s,  Snohomish. We pray also for the congregation of All Saints Goshen who worships in our building.

Have mercy, O God, hear our prayer.

For peace and justice in the world, and in our nation. We ask you to safeguard all who serve in public  life, and to settle the minds of those who entertain ideas of political violence.

Have mercy, O God, hear our prayer.

For all those who travel, and for those who care for their safety. We pray especially for our wildland  firefighters.

Have mercy, O God, hear our prayer.

For all those who live in dread of immigration enforcement. For those in hiding. Walk beside and  comfort those who are detained. Bless those who help and care for them.

Have mercy, O God, hear our prayer.

For the sick and suffering, for the poor and oppressed, for prisoners and their families. Bless those  who struggle with addiction and recovery, especially those who meet in our building. We lift up to you  those who have commended themselves to our prayers: Elise, Eric, Jose and their family; Michelle; Scot;  Susy; Alex; Vicky; Emilio; Ian; Barbara; Christine; Sue; Denice; Jim; Richard; Suzanne; Karen; Nancy;  Sandy; Emily; Tim; and those we now name, either silently or aloud.

Have mercy, O God, hear our prayer.

For the dying and the dead. Bless their grieving families with your soothing love. Today we remember  Josh; Lori; Kenneth; Ayden; and those we now name, either silently or aloud.

Have mercy, O God, hear our prayer.

For ourselves, our families and companions, and all those we love, especially those celebrating  birthdays and anniversaries this week: Paige; Nancy; and those we now name, either silently or aloud.

Have mercy, O God, hear our prayer.

Lifting our voices with all creation, with the Blessed Virgin Mary, Hilda, Patrick, and all the saints, we  offer ourselves and one another to you, our living God, through Christ.

Have mercy, O God, hear our prayer.

Amen.
