July 13: Weekly Prayers

Almighty God, we pray for your church. As laborers in your vineyards we pray for Sean our Presiding Bishop, Phil our Bishop, Joseph our Vicar. We pray for our Bishop’s Committee and all lay leaders. We pray for The Church of North India (United). We pray for St. Augustine’s in-the-Woods, Freeland; St. Philip’s, Marysville; and All Saints, Goshen. Guide and strengthen the church in its mission to restore all people to unity with you and one another in Christ.

Open our eyes, O God. Show us our neighbors.

Almighty God, we pray for this nation and all in authority, especially Donald our president, Bob our governor, all elected officials, and for the electorate. Give to us a zeal for justice and the strength of forbearance, that we may use our liberty in accordance with your gracious will.

Open our eyes, O God. Show us our neighbors.

Almighty God, we pray for those vulnerable to immigration enforcement, and for those who assist and protect them. Remind them of your presence as we make our presence known.

Open our eyes, O God. Show us our neighbors.

Almighty God, we pray for the welfare of the world: for peace where there is war, for food where there is famine, for comfort where there is despair. We especially remember those whose lives have been devastated by flooding around the country and those facing starvation in Gaza.

Open our eyes, O God. Show us our neighbors.

Almighty God, we pray for all who are sick in mind, body, or spirit, and those who care for them. We pray for those who have commended themselves to our prayers: Emilio; Ian; Barbara; Christine; Sue; Denice; Jim; Richard; Suzanne; Karen; Nancy; Sandy; Emily; Tim; Elise, Eric, and their family; Michelle; Scot; Susy; Alex; Vicky; Jose and his family; Maryam; and those we name now, either silently or aloud. We also remember those who struggled with addiction and recovery, especially the groups who meet in our building. Bless the dying, tend the sick, give rest to the weary, soothe the suffering, and pity the afflicted.

Open our eyes, O God. Show us our neighbors.

Almighty God, we pray for those who have died, especially John; Josh; Lori; Kenneth; Ayden; those who have died in floods; and those we now name either silently or aloud. Receive them into your fold.

Open our eyes, O God. Show us our neighbors.

Almighty God, we give you thanks for those celebrating birthdays and anniversaries, especially Nancy, Glenn; and Paige and Jeff. Shield the joyous.

Open our eyes, O God. Show us our neighbors.

O Lord God, your mercy delights us, and the world longs for your loving care. Hear the cries of everyone in need, and turn our hearts to love our neighbors with the love of your Son, Jesus Christ our Savior and Lord.

Amen.
