October 19: Weekly Prayers

The Prayers of the People are modeled on Form III found on page 387 in The Book of Common Prayer.

For All Saints Goshen, which meets in our building, all church plants, restarts, and missions of Good News; for The Episcopal Church and Annie Wright School, Tacoma; Charles Wright Academy, Tacoma; The Table: University of Washington Episcopal Campus Ministry; Father, we pray for your holy Catholic Church;

That we all may be one.

Grant that every member of the Church may truly and humbly serve you;

That your Name may be glorified by all people.

We pray for all bishops, especially Sarah, the Archbishop of Canterbury designate; Sean our Presiding Bishop, Phil our bishop; all priests, especially Joseph our vicar; all deacons; and all religious.

That they may be faithful ministers of your Word and Sacraments.

We pray for Donald our president, Bob our governor, and for all who govern and hold authority in the nations of the world;

That there may be justice and peace on the earth.

Give us grace to do your will in all that we undertake;

That our works may find favor in your sight.

For all who struggle with addiction, and those in recovery, especially the groups that meet in our building; for Susy; Megan; Diana; Jenny; Carol; Gerry; Mary; Amy; Jose and his family; Emilio; Ian; Barbara; Christine; Sue; Denice; Jim; Richard; Suzanne; Karen; Nancy; Sandy; Emily; Tim; Have compassion on those who suffer from any grief or trouble

That they may be delivered from their distress.

Give to the departed, especially Alec and Dick; eternal rest.

Let light perpetual shine upon them.

We praise you for your saints who have entered into joy;

May we also come to share in your heavenly kingdom.

Let us pray for our own needs and those of others, especially all who are vulnerable to immigration enforcement, for those in hiding, and those who are detained. Shower your blessings upon those who help them. Call to account all who do them harm, and all who allow hatred to grow in their hearts. We remember before you those celebrating birthdays and anniversaries especially Alex; Loretta & Russell.

O Lord God, tireless guardian of your people, you are always ready to hear our cries. Teach us to rely day and night on your care. Inspire us to seek your enduring justice for all this suffering world, through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord.

Amen.
