February 05: Weekly Prayers

Almighty God, we raise our voices to you like trumpets. We pray for your holy church, that it may shine as a light to the world, and a city on a hill. We pray for the Anglican Church of Papua New Guinea, Michael, our Presiding Bishop, Melissa and Brian, our bishops, St. Matthew’s / San Mateo Auburn, and St. Elizabeth’s Burien. Reveal your wisdom, O Lord, that we may have the mind of Christ.

Guide our vicar Joseph and our Bishop’s Committee, that they may lead the people of St. Hilda St. Patrick to be salt for the earth. Reveal your wisdom, O Lord, that we may have the mind of Christ.

We pray for these United States, and all who govern and hold authority, that they might heed the call of the prophets: to let the oppressed go free and break every yoke. Reveal your wisdom, O Lord, that we may have the mind of Christ.

We remember before you, Almighty God, those who are in any need or trouble, especially the hungry, the hopeless, the homeless; the destitute, the unemployed and underemployed, and those who are in prison, especially those who have been sentenced to die. Embolden us to share our bread with the hungry and bring the homeless into our houses. Reveal your wisdom, O Lord, that we may have the mind of Christ.

God, in your goodness and mercy, we ask that you would be with those who have commended themselves to our prayers: Susy; Danielle; Lauren and Micah; Chandler; Jo and her family; Charles; Colin; Laura; Emily; Emilio; Ian; Barbara; Christine; Sue; Giles; Denice; Jim; Richard; and those we now name, either silently or aloud. Reveal your wisdom, O Lord, that we may have the mind of Christ.

Let your light break forth like the dawn. and your healing spring up quickly, as we strive to be better stewards of all that we have: our time, talent, treasure, and our beloved home Earth. Reveal your wisdom, O Lord, that we may have the mind of Christ.

All good gifts come from you Creator, and we give you thanks for all our blessings, especially those celebrating birthdays and anniversaries, and those blessings we name now either silently or aloud. Do not let us take a single day for granted. Reveal your wisdom, O Lord, that we may have the mind of Christ.

Vindicator who goes before us, whose glory is our rear guard, we pray for those who have passed this life before us, who are enfolded even now in your glory, especially Al, Lennon, and those we name now, either silently or aloud. Reveal your wisdom, O Lord, that we may have the mind of Christ.

Give us grace, O Lord, to answer readily the call of our Savior Jesus Christ and proclaim to all people the Good News of his salvation, that we and the whole world may perceive the glory of his marvelous works; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
