Generous God, you have chosen us to do the work of your kingdom. You have called us to labor in your vineyard. With grateful hearts, we offer to you the best of what we have. We give thanks for the blessings of this life we now name, either silently or aloud. Lead us with gladness. Cover us with shouts of joy.
Generous God, you hear the cry of the hungry. Give bread to all those who face starvation. Use us, as you will, to relieve suffering in our world. Lead us with gladness. Cover us with shouts of joy.
Generous God, you make rivers run in dry places. You have blessed this earth with bountiful resources. Open our eyes to see your hand at work in the world about us. We pray for the groups that use our building; those who struggle with addiction and recovery; and for the congregation of All Saints Goshen. Lead us with gladness. Cover us with shouts of joy.
Generous God, there is enough kingdom work for everyone. Give us eyes to see the opportunities in our own neighborhood. Guide us that we may live in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. Bless Michael, our presiding bishop; Melissa and Brian, our bishops; Joseph, our vicar, and the person who will be the next bishop of Olympia. We pray for the Church of Ireland; and for the faith communities of the Lamb; the brotherhood of St. Andrew; The Order of St. Francis; and Earth Ministry. Lead us with gladness. Cover us with shouts of joy.
Generous God, you hear the cries of the desperate. Marvelous are your works. May the sick and suffering rejoice in you. May the sorrowful call upon your name. We pray for those who have commended themselves to our prayers: Jackie and her family; Macy; Emily, Paige, and their family; Karen; Emilio; Ian; Barbara; Christine; Sue; Giles; Denice; Jim; Richard; Suzanne; and those we now name, either silently or aloud. Lead us with gladness. Cover us with shouts of joy.
Generous God, living is Christ and dying is gain. May those who now rest from their labors find their comfort in you. Let light perpetual shine upon them. We remember especially those we now name, either silently or aloud. Lead us with gladness. Cover us with shouts of joy.
Generous God, you have given us friends and gathered us together in families. We pray for those who celebrate birthdays and anniversaries this week, including Pam; Ian; and those we now name, either silently or aloud. Lead us with gladness. Cover us with shouts of joy.
AMEN.
