November 5: Weekly Prayers

O God, we reverence the altars of your church, and ask to feel your presence here. Bless Michael, our  presiding bishop; Melissa and Brian, our bishops; Joseph, our vicar; and the person who will become  the next bishop of Olympia. We pray for the Anglican Church of Mexico; and for the faith communities  of St. Albans, Edmonds; and Redeemer, Kenmore. May we be worthy, to stand before your throne.

God of justice and might, give enlightenment to our nation’s leaders, and to the leaders of all nations.  May the saints of old shine before their eyes as they make decisions affecting those they are sworn to  serve. May we be worthy, to stand before your throne.

God of love, as we remember those who have gone before us, we thank you for this loving, caring  community of St. Hilda St. Patrick. Bless us now according to our gratitude for the treasures they built  up, that are now under our stewardship. We pray for the groups who use our building, for those  struggling with addiction and recovery, and for the congregation of All Saints Goshen. May we be worthy, to stand before your throne.

God of compassion, give comfort to your children around the world who suffer from violence and  disaster. Soften our own hearts in response to what we see, and fill us with your spirit. May we be worthy, to stand before your throne.

God of creation, you conferred the gift of healing upon your many saints, who faithfully took up your  work on earth. Give healing now to those who commend themselves to our prayers: Emilio; Ian;  Barbara; Sue; Giles; Denice; Jim; Richard; Suzanne; Karen; Hannah; Rhonda and her family; Elliott;  Christine; Sandy and her family; Celia and her family; and those we now name, either silently or aloud. May we be worthy, to stand before your throne.

God of eternity, have mercy on those who have died. Bless and exalt your servants who lived in hope  of resurrection, and invite them to your holy hill and to your dwelling. We pray especially for Detlef;  and those we now name, either silently or aloud. May we be worthy, to stand before your throne.

God of joy and gladness, we mark our time on earth by celebration and thanksgiving. We pray for  those with birthdays and anniversaries to observe this week, including those we now name, either  silently or aloud. May we be worthy, to stand before your throne.

Amen.
