April 14: Weekly Prayers

Speak peace to your church, God most venerable. Open our minds to your truth. Open our hearts to your presence. Send us forth into the world as witnesses to your resurrection. Bless Michael, our presiding bishop; Melissa and Brian, our bishops; and Joseph, our vicar. We pray for The Anglican Church in Aotearoa, New Zealand, and Polynesia; and for the faith communities of St. John’s, Gig Harbor; Faith, Poulsbo; St. Andrew’s, Port Angeles; and All Saints Goshen.

Answer us when we call. Hear our prayer.

Speak peace to our world, Righteous God. Many are saying, “Oh, that we might see better times!” Lift up the light of your countenance. Give hope to all people. We give thanks for the blessings of this life, especially those we now name, either silently or aloud.

Speak peace to the earth, Lord Christ. You entered into the created order and blessed it. Give us eyes to see signs of redemption. Give us courage to responsibly care for all that you have made.

Speak peace to those who work to end poverty, gracious God. You know the pangs of hunger. You also know the depth of our community’s need. Comfort those who become discouraged in their work. Set free all those who are hard pressed. Fulfill all those in need. Bless all who struggle with addiction and recovery, especially the groups that meet in our building.
