May 19: Weekly Prayers

O God, we pray for this gathering at St. Hilda St. Patrick today, and for all people who come together  in your name around the world. 

Come, Holy Spirit, guide us.

We pray today for Michael, our presiding bishop; Melissa and Brian, our bishops; Rev. Phil LaBelle, the Bishop-elect of Olympia; and Joseph, our vicar. Bless those who stood for election, Rev. Dr. Hillary D. Raining, Ven. Jordan Haynie Ware, Rev. Kate E. Wesch, in their ongoing discernment of God’s call. In the Diocesan Cycle of prayer, we remember Christ  Church, Tacoma; and Holy Family of Jesus, Tacoma. In the Anglican Cycle of prayer, we pray for The  Anglican Church of Canada. We also pray for the congregation of All Saints Goshen, who worship in  our space. 

Come, Holy Spirit, guide us.

We pray for peace and unity in every nation.  

Come, Holy Spirit, guide us.

We pray for all those in bondage, poverty, or despair.

Come, Holy Spirit, guide us.

We pray for our divided, fragile country and its leaders.

Come, Holy Spirit, guide us.

We pray for all who face illness, fear, loneliness, or addiction, including those who meet together for  support in our building. 

Come, Holy Spirit, guide us.

We pray for those who have died and those who mourn, remembering especially Robert; Steve;  Willie; Derek; Melanie; Gretchen; Izzy; Marcus; and those we now name, either silently or aloud.

Come, Holy Spirit, guide us.

We remember these people who need our special prayers today: Kenneth; Alec; Martha; Ellie; Josh;  Nancy; Cynthia; Rhya; Amy; Emilio; Ian; Barbara; Christine; Sue; Giles; Denice; Jim; Richard; Suzanne;  Karen; Will; Janette; and those we now name, either silently or aloud. 

Come, Holy Spirit, guide us.

We thank you for beautiful skies, good harvests, seasonable weather, and all of your marvelous  creation. 

Come, Holy Spirit, guide us.

We pray for ourselves, our communities, and those we love, including these people celebrating  anniversaries and birthdays this week: Richard; Aria; and those we name either silently or aloud.

Come, Holy Spirit, guide us.

We thank you for everyone who lightens our load and brightens our day.
