February 12: Weekly Prayers

Almighty God, we pray for your church and all who serve you including Michael our Presiding Bishop; Melissa our Bishop Provisional; and Joseph our vicar. We pray for your servants everywhere, especially for the bishop’s committee and volunteers at St. Hilda St. Patrick. In the Anglican Cycle of prayer, we lift up the Episcopal Church in the Philippines. In our diocese we pray for Good Shepherd, Federal Way and St. Columba’s, Kent. Holy One, we turn our hearts to you.

Wise Counselor, we pray for our country. We ask you to bless those who lead, especially Joe our president, and Jay our governor. Help them stay true to their vision and advocate for justice and peace. Guide other world leaders on the path to peace. Calm the violence between people and nations. Assist and comfort displaced people and migrants trying to find a safe path to a better life. Holy One, we turn our hearts to you.

Lord of the Universe, ease the many stresses of winter, and the pains of climate-related disasters. Lead us to honor the Tulalip Tribes, successors to the original inhabitants of this area, the Snohomish people, and their stewardship. Help us to be mindful of their legacy and be responsible caretakers of your creation. Guide us in our efforts to protect the earth. Holy One, we turn our hearts to you.

Great healer, we ask for your help for ourselves and our families. Ease the ongoing challenges in our lives. Grant us positive support. Motivate us to reach out to others. Holy One, we turn our hearts to you.

Our redeemer, sustain our communities, especially the vulnerable who need shelter and continued access to social and medical services. Strengthen services for permanent and temporary housing, employment, and food banks. Motivate us to use our resources to help others and advocate for justice and positive change. Holy One, we turn our hearts to you.

Living and true God, we pray for safe journeys for those who travel. Guide us through the many hazards of winter travel. Holy One, we turn our hearts to you.
Prince of peace, we ask that you would be with those who have commended themselves to our prayers: Emilio; Ian; Barbara; Christine; Sue; Giles; Denice; Jim; Richard; Susy; Danielle; Lauren and Micah; Chandler; and those we now name, either silently or aloud. Holy One, we turn our hearts to you.

Lord, we pray for those who have passed on before us. Surround them in your love and comfort us as we grieve their absence. We pray especially for: Al; Lennon; and those we now name, either silently or aloud. Holy One, we turn our hearts to you.

Almighty God, thank you for the many celebrations of our lives. We thank you especially for the friends celebrating birthdays and anniversaries, including Peter, and those we now name, either silently or aloud. Holy One, we turn our hearts to you.
